Presenting another installment in my Relics Series. This piece was meticulously turned to an exceptionally thin profile, allowing for the natural warping to accentuate the exaggerated rim. To ensure its integrity as it dried and warped, I employed a focused light source directed onto the exterior. This method enabled me to hollow the walls until an even, warm orange hue was visible, indicating that the wood was sufficiently thin for optimal drying.
This design pushed the boundaries of my skills and tested the steadiness of my hands. I am particularly fond of the exaggerated rim, which elegantly showcases the intricate grain of the wood.
