This was a design that I had imagined months before I even started to make it. It sat there in my mind as a concept burning away. I knew that wouldn’t change until I figured out how to make it. So a year later between responsibilities, other projects, a lot of of trial and error, and furthering that, a lot of man hours I finally finished my first sphere bowl.

This particular bowl started off as 68 hand turned spheres comprising of 13 different species of wood. Through shaping and finishing achieving the form I wanted spheres vanished into shavings, but what I have left is something I’m truly happy with and love.

This piece looks clean yet interesting, it’s minimalist whilst still drawing your attention. A tactile form that crosses modern materials to encapsulate the timeless and natural patterns of exposed wood grain throughout the varying species of wood in the platter.

I think the photos of this piece speaks for itself, and the exceptional finish achieved. A piece of work I am really proud of and hope you love.

Although all my pieces are finished to an extremely high standard. This is a natural handmade product, therefore they may be small and slight imperfections visible.

Approximate Dimensions:

Height: 3 cm

Width: 21 cm
