Oak burl bowl V3.

Sold Out
This is one of 5 oak burls from the same tree I acquired towards the end of last year. I bought one blank and started to turn it when mid way through I realised I just had to have the other 4 they were that special.

It was an absolute pleasure to turn this piece, believe me when I say wood this nice doesn’t turn up often !

Each burl is very different in design and patterning and features, I’ve focused on the natural elements of each piece and haven’t shied away from what would usually be considered a defect from holes and cracks to woodworm holes.

This one in particular was turned with less moisture within and was allowed to dry so it is relatively straight and even, whilst still having all the natural goodness and features of the others. I see this to be quite a practical design of the series I have produced and can be used for lots of purposes.

This piece is finished off with a metal tag of mine on the bottom. it is a pleasure to put my name to a piece I’m so proud of !

Approximate dimensions at its widest point:
Width : 270mm
Height:53mm

I have used a satin osmo oil finish on this piece to achieve the look I like, and a layer of protection to the piece.

All bowls are entirely hand made to a very high standard, they may however feature small imperfections throughout.
