Planetary Lines…

The texture, depth and tactility to this vessel are incredible. This piece of heavily spalted beach has amazing spalting that i’ve combined with the process of sandblasting to further enhance the beautiful features of this piece. The texture combined with the spalting resembles that of a distant planets surface… hence the name.

I must admit, to most people this piece of wood would’ve been beyond useable and too soft to produce a vessel from. These are the pieces that excite me most…

almost anyone can see the beauty in a highly figured burl or processed blank. I thrive off of Creating beauty out of a piece no one else can seem to see. I personally think this bowl is the epitome of that very process.

Approximate Dimensions:

230 x 130 mm
