The Hemmick started off as a weekend getaway to Cornwall England. A small secluded cottage on the beach. As I wondered around,looking at all of the interesting objects and materials scattered around the beach,I decided that I should start collecting. The beauty of this particular beach really was incredible and I decided that I could make a bowl entirely from Hemmicks findings. That got me thinking... why don’t I develop this. There are countless beaches holding equal untold beauty on each of its shores, so why don’t I tell that story.
So here it is the Hemmick, the first of my beach series, each named after the specific beach I collect from, a limited series to appreciate what would otherwise drift back and forth, shore to shore going unnoticed for the most part.
I think it is now impossible to not notice the beauty in which Hemmick holds.
A completely unique design that holds so much character. The detail on this bowl is untold, I truly believe you could look at this bowl on dozens of occasions, and still not truly appreciate each individual story that the driftwood tells.
The perfectly polished resin in contrast with the exposed wood grain just works, they compliment each other fantastically.
